A trip to the Lake District Wildlife Park is a wonderful way to experience learning outside the classroom. Whether you are looking to bring a pre-school class for the first time or a school group to develop a classroom topic. Learning and Discovery is what Lake District Wildlife Park does best!
The Lake District Wildlife Park Education Programme is revised and updated each academic year, focusing on science and cross-curricular work with a strong emphasis on developing environmental and conservation awareness both at home and all over the world. Our programmes are adapted accordingly to accommodate different year groups and abilities from nursery to KS4.
Learning & Discovery workshops and resources have been devised by our educator to focus on the Life and Living Processes attainment target of the National Curriculum, as well as cross-curricular topics.

Self-Led Visits with an Educational Workshop
All workshops are held in our Yurt and are designed to be fun and interactive. They all include sensory items to touch and feel including snake sheds, feathers, fur, hides and a giant tortoiseshell. The topics that we deliver are:

Self-Led Workshops
Bring your class to the Park for a great day of learning outside the classroom. On a self-led visit our Education Officer will provide you with a suggested timetable to optimise your day. Your visit includes access to all of our Educational Keeper Talks and Displays. We highly recommend these as a fun and engaging way to learn about animals and how they live in the wild.

We have adapted our School visits in accordance with Government guidelines in relation to Covid-19. We can accommodate self-led visits in school bubbles and workshops will take place in the outdoor undercover area. Please contact us to arrange a pre-visit or to discuss your visit.
